Cute Pictures of Britton

Britton has been sick most of the week with a nasty cold and an ear infection, so he stayed home from Church today. But it didn't keep him from smiling!!

Carter Dressed Himself Today

So, like I have said, Chris has been gone a lot and there are just some things that I have had to give up on lately. Today it was how Carter was dressed. So this is what he wore - A blue sweat suite that should have been given to the Salvation Army 2 years ago when Carter grew out of it, boat shoes without socks, a big green beanie, garden gloves (I DON'T KNOW WHY), and a blue jacket that wouldn't even zip up. Although he looks like the biggest goof ball, I love that he loves it! All day he was strutting his stuff with his new I-dressed-myself confidence. Although he looks cute, maybe dressing my son is something I won't give up on quite yet after all. BUT HE IS SO ADORABLE!

Book Buddies

Chris has been gone a lot lately because he has been studying for the dental boards. He has been leaving before the kidos get up and coming home long after they have gone to bed. So since it is a Saturday and we wanted to get some daddy time in, we surprised him by visiting him at the local library. It actually wasn't much of a surprise because the second we entered the small library Britton broke the no talking rule by screaming "Daddy, ere are oo."

While we were there, we got some books for Carter and Britton. Chris read them to them when he got home. They are always so happy together. Chris is such a good dad and it shows by how much my boys love him. They just can't get enough daddy time!

B.F.F.

These two are just so cute together! I love how I took like 20 photos and they both weren't looking at the camera . Notice how tall Ethan is compared to my Carter. Believe it or not, they are only a few days apart! I love to see them play together. They just LOVE to be together. We will be sad when they move to CA.

Funny Things Carter Said

I was leavening to go visiting teaching and was walking out the door when Carter said, "Silly mommy, we kiss family before we leave."

Today while we were driving home from Carter's pre-school he said to me, "I love you as much as the trees." We were driving through a forest area.

Carter said, "Britton your so cute you should be on a Christmas card." He got it from his favorite move, Elf.

Carter and I were lying on the couch reading a book and Britton wanted to join in. So I squished Britton onto my lap and Carter was quite uncomfortable and said, "Too much family."

Carter told me that Elmo's daddy baptized him. I just can't imagine trying to get Elmo dry for the confirmation!

Easter fun!

On Saturday, Carter and I started to make the boys' Easter baskets out of old paper bags. I learned how to do this while teaching the after-school kindergarten class. It was so much fun. Carter really got into all the crumpling.

The finished bag. Carter was so excited about dyeing the eggs, as you can see.

The Easter bunny came so the baskets are filled and ready for the boys.

Yaaaaaaaaaay, they love them!! Carter loved the finger skateboard. Britton loved the candy.

Ready to dye the eggs.

Carter's doing the dipping. Just like his dad, he has to be perfect.

Yikes. Britton's new smile. How do we fix that?

I heard a big crash and thought that one of the boys were messing with the eggs and when I went into the Kitchen I saw Chris stumbling to get all of the eggs off the floor that he had dropped. Oh well, we were going to have egg salad sandwiches for lunch anyhow.

We had a great night, too. We went over to the Rosengren's house for dinner and had a wonderful time. The food was good and the company was great.

Hugs Happen Anywhere in This House

The boys are always hugging. But it always ends up the same way. It starts with a simple BIG hug, then Britton decides that he wants Carter to hold him so he lifts his little legs off the ground. Carter tries to hold him but can't and they end up on the floor. . . still hugging but not in the way they had originally planed. I am so glad they love each other so much. It is fun to see both of them grow up and become so sweet.

Sleeping Monkey

I went to a friend's baby shower and left my husband with the boys. When I came home I found Chris asleep on the couch and Carter asleep sprawled on the floor sleeping in a monkey costume. This is why dads are so much fun because anything goes.

Big snow storm on the first day of spring..........BUMMER.

So today we woke up to several inches of snow on the ground and it continued to snow all day long. All in all, we got about 10-12 inches. Just yesterday Carter was riding his bike outside and hanging out with some friends and the weather was just gorgeous. (Notice the bike covered in snow in the photo.) It is Chris's spring break and I don't think anyone should ever need to shovel snow on their spring break--there is just something WRONG about that. I don't mean to be bitter but I am just eager for Spring to really come.

Like Mother, Like Son

Poor kid--he has a sweet tooth just like me. I turned around just for a second in the kitchen and when I looked back at Britt he was sucking the Hershey syrup like it was a bottle. So we don't have many sweets in the house right now because I am trying to eat healthier (trying is the key word.) I have been waiting for easter to eat my favorite Cadbury chocolate eggs. You know the ones that have the hard shells in the various pastel colors with the luscious, rich, divine, milk chocolate centers? I just love the way they melt in my mouth. . . . and the shell--did I mention that? SOOOOO GOOD. I told myself I could eat as many as I wanted on Sunday only but yesterday we went to our good friends' house for dinner and she had a bowl of them out! That plan went downhill!! I literally ate the whole bowl with only a little, little, little help from Chris. Thanks Josie!! Or should I say no thanks. ;0)

Fun With Grandma

My mother came to Wisconsin this week to visit the grandbabies. We just had so much fun. Thanks for coming, Mom!

While she was here we went to The Wilderness Resort at the Dells where there are tons of huge indoor water parks to play in. Here are a few pictures from our fun adventures.

Carter's Class Photos

A few weeks ago Carter had his class pictures and they invited anyone else who wanted to have their picture taken to come. So I was able to get a picture with both of my handsome boys together. We practiced Carter's smile for about a week before and he pulled it off! I was so happy to see both of them smile.

Carter's Got the Looks

On Friday as Carter was eating his breakfast he said to me, "I've got the looks." I chuckled and then he said, "I've got speed, too." He sometimes says the most random, funny things. I have no clue where he got that from but it was funny. I think he has the looks!

Sleepy Britton

Britton is in love with his dad. All he talks about is his dad. The other day when I went into his room to get him from his nap he asked me, "Wheres dada?" I told him that he was home (which was unusual considering his busy schedule.) He looked at me with a confused look on his face and said, "No, dada at school. " It is neat to see the bond between both of them. I love how Britton is always right next to his dad. This photo is just so typical of both of them.

Kids, Kids, and More Kids

On Monday we had a houseful of kids over for lunch (6 boys and 1 girl, to be exact). Carter has said to me before that he is happy when his friends come over because he likes to laugh with them. It is so cute to see all of their fun personalities together and to see them laugh together. I am glad that our family has such good friends here in Wisconsin.

My Sweet Boys

This morning I was pleasantly surprised to find Carter reading to Britton. Carter has grown up to be such a great big brother. He loves Britton and, in return, Britton loves him, too. It's moments like these that make me happy to be a mother.

Britton's New Bedding

This is my newest project. Britton had the cutest cowboy crib set that I made him right before he was born. I had to put it all away because the mattress needed to be lowered which made the bed skirt drag. Plus Britton started using the crib bumper as a step to get out of his crib. Because of that his room now looks very bare. I didn't want to spend any money on new bedding because I am hoping in the next year or so I'll have the boys share the room but only if Britton becomes a better roommate! So Britton and I went down into my basement and we went shopping through my business fabrics. He picked the airplane fabric out and I put minky with it (he loves minky). It only took me an hour to do the pillow case and the blanket which is quilted and bound, too. Dang I have gotten fast!! It is so rewarding to make things for my boys because they appreciate it so much. He loves it!

Carter's Drawings

Carter drew some pictures of some family members. Take a look because they are quite funny. This one is of a very happy Aunt Zizi. (Linzi)

This is one of Chris.

And this one is of me. I look like I haven't slept in days. Should I be worried about what my boys think of me?  :0)
